Let's separate the waste
before our future is wasted
The amount of waste we produce has been increasing every year, causing landfills to become overwhelmed, where poorly sorted waste ends up.
The challenge of this campaign is to raise awareness among the entire population about this enormous problem.
3 million tons of municipal waste
in landfills are a monumental problem.
Portugal is full of great monuments that honor our past.
But it is also becoming full of garbage in monumental landfills, which compromise our future.
We want to show the real impact of this problem with a straightforward message: "Let's separate the waste before our future is wasted."
And we did so through powerful images of giant monuments made of poorly sorted garbage, representing the approximately 3 million tons of waste that can be found in landfills throughout the country.
The impact
of our campaign
The message reached millions of people through a campaign that involved television, radio, social media, a website, and activations, with the participation of João Manzarra and Joana Marques.
Colombo and
NorteShopping
It was during these activations, in which we had more direct contact with the people who visited us at the Colombo and NorteShopping shopping centers, that we realized there is a clear awareness of the problem of proper waste separation and a strong desire to join this civic movement for our future.
In these activations, we invited visitors to participate in a quiz about the best choices when separating waste, we gave examples of the most common biowaste, and we clarified all the questions that arose.
Articles
Several reports were produced, showing how the activations carried out in the Colombo and NorteShopping shopping centers worked, and also featuring the APA team, which explained why we should be attentive to the problem of waste accumulation in landfills.
